Executive Management

Stephen POKANIS was appointed Acting Commissioner on 24th September 2018. His appointment was made by the Head of State, the Governor General of Papua New Guinea upon advise from Minister for Public Service under NEC delegated powers and Minister for PNG Correctional Service under Section 13 of Correctional Service Act of 1995 (Amended).  

Michael MOSIRI was appointed Acting Deputy Commissioner, Corporate Services in 2018.  His appointment was made by the Acting Commissioner for Correctional Service under Section 13 of Correctional Service Act of 1995 (Amended).  He oversees the Corporate Services Division which comprises of Personnel, Finance & Administration, Policy, Planning & Evaluation, Facilities Assests Management Unit (FAMU), Information & Communication Technology (ICT), Legal Services, Internal Audit and Media & Public Relations.  Acting Deputy Commissioner – Michael Mosiri has over 40 years of experience as a Corrections administrator. Mr. Mosiri is also a member of the Correctional Service Executive Team (CSET).

Dennis PIANDI was appointed Deputy Commissioner – Operations in 2015. His appointment was made by Commissioner for PNG Correctional Service under Section 13 of Correctional Service Act of 1995 (Amended).  He oversees the Operations Division which comprises of Southern Region Command, Islands Region Command, Northern Region Command and Highlands Region, Detainee Welfare & Rehabilitation, Rural Lockup, Detainee Data Statistics and Prison Industries.  Deputy Commissioner – Dennis Piandi has 40 years of experience as a Corrections administrator. Mr. Piandi is also a member of the Correctional Service Executive Team (CSET).
