Senior Management

Mr. David Suagu was appointed Assistant Commissioner in 2016.  Mr. Suagu joined PNGCS on 04th January 1993.  Mr. Suagu is a career Corrections officer who has worked his way up to his current designation. Mr. Suagu has over 20 years of experience in Corrections administration operations, process and procedures.  He currently heads the Policy & Planning, ICT, Facilities, and Public Relations Sections within the organization.  He is also a member of the Correctional Service Executive Team (CSET).

Mr. Michael Mosiri was appointed Assistant Comissioner in 2014. Mr. Mosiri joined PNGCS on 05th April, 1976. Mr. Mosiri is a career Corrections officer and has worked his way up over the years to his current designation.  Mr. Mosiri has over 40 years of experience as a Corrections administrator and he currently heads the Personnel, Finance and Administrations divisions of the organization which are made up of;  Finance, HR, and CSHQ Administration.  He is also a member of the Correctional Service Executive Team (CSET).

Mr. David Kanumbom was appointed Assistant Commissioner - Highlands Region in 2014. Mr. Kanumbom joined PNGCS on 27th June 1975.  He is a career Corrections officer and has worked his way up over the years to his current designation. Mr. Kanumbom has over 40 years of experience in Corrections administration, operations process and procedures.  He currently manages all jails within the Highlands Region of Papua New Guinea.  These jails are; Baisu CI (WESTERN HIGHLANDS PROVINCE), Bui-Eibi CI (SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS PROVINCE), Mukrumanda CI (ENGA PROVINCE), Bihute CI (EASTERN HIGHLANDS PROVINCE), Bundaira CI (EASTERN HIGHLANDS PROVINCE), Barawagi CI (SIMBU PROVINCE) and Hawa CI (HELA PROVINCE). He is also a member of the Correctional Service Executive Team (CSET).

Mr. Philip Eka was appointed Assistant Commissioner – Islands (NGI) Region in 2014.  Mr.  Eka joined PNGCS on 01st July 1974.  Mr. Eka is a lawyer by profession and a former court Magistrate.  Mr. Eka has over 40 years of experience in Corrections administration, operations process and procedures.  He currently manages all jails within the New Guinea Islands Region of Papua New Guinea.  These jails are; Kerevat CI (EAST NEW BRITAIN PROVINCE), Lakiemata CI (WEST NEW BRITAIN PROVINCE), Kavieng CI (KAVIENG PROVINCE), Manus CI (MANUS PROVINCE), and Beku CI (AUTONOMOUS REGION OF BOUGAINVILLE).  He is also a member of the Correctional Service Executive Team (CSET).

Mr. Henry Joseph Wavik was appointed Assistant Commissioner – Southern Region in 2014.  Mr.  Wavik joined PNGCS on 18^th March 1974.  Mr. Wavik is a career Corrections officer and has worked his way up over the years to his current designation.  Mr. Wavik has over 40 years of experience in Corrections administration, operations process and procedures. He currently manages all jails within the Southern Region of Papua New Guinea.  These jails are; Bomana CI (NCD), Giligili CI (MILNE BAY), Biru CI (ORO PROVINCE), Daru CI (WESTERN PROVINCE), and Ningerum CI (WESTERN PROVINCE).  He is also a member of the Correctional Service Executive Team (CSET).
