Mr. Philip Pranis was appointed Assistant Commissioner – Islands (NGI) Region in 2020.  Mr.  Pranis joined PNGCS on 30th May 1993.  Philip has over 20 years of experience in Corrections administration, operations process and procedures.  Prior to his appointment as Assistant Commissioner he was Commanding Officer of Manus Correctional Institutue, Lorengau.He currently manages all jails within the New Guinea Islands Region of Papua New Guinea.  These jails are; Kerevat CI (EAST NEW BRITAIN PROVINCE), Lakiemata CI (WEST NEW BRITAIN PROVINCE), Kavieng CI (KAVIENG PROVINCE), Manus CI (MANUS PROVINCE), and Beku CI (AUTONOMOUS REGION OF BOUGAINVILLE).  He is also a member of the Correctional Service Executive Team (CSET).
